The WVOC campus is located in the heart of the Allegheny Mountains of West Virginia, within the Monongahela National Forest. Home to over 200 species of birds, abundant plant and animal life, and some of the most beautiful hiking trails, we couldn’t imagine a more perfect location for an outdoor classroom.
The 170-acre WVOC campus has two creeks (one cold and one warm, so they each have unique ecosystems!), a spring-fed lake, and numerous hiking trails. There is no shortage of wildlife to explore, and students are sure to be exposed to species they haven’t encountered elsewhere.
WVOC is conveniently located just a short drive away from most cities in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. Students can leave their schools in the morning and be hiking on the trails at WVOC by the afternoon!
